Rooted in History. Committed to preserving Langley's agricultural heritage.

Visual Concept
Dear Community Members,
The Township of Langley Farm & Ranch Exhibition Society (FREX) is seeking your organization's endorsement and support for the development of a non-profit, volunteer based multi use Agricultural Event Center at the historic Belmont Farms on Old Yale Road, Township of Langley.
In October 2025 an informal presentation was made to TOL Mayor & Council.
FREX received unanimous approval to proceed with their due diligence and bring a proposal forward to Council.
The following is a brief summary of our intentions and what we hope to have ready for presentation by March 1/2026.
If the following describes a project your group could stand behind, endorse and potentially make use of please email a letter of support to frexbelmontfarms@gmail.com - our goal is to let the TOL know that this is something the AG community would overwhelmingly embrace.
Sincerely,
FREX Board of Directors

The 60-acre ALR Belmont Farms property offers a rare opportunity to create a permanent Agricultural Exhibition Park and Pioneer heritage centre located within the Township.
FREX seeks to honour, preserve, and revitalize the sites legacy while creating a vibrant year-round destination for agriculture, education, competition, and a community campus that aims to serve the needs of Youth Agricultural programs, 4-H groups, livestock breeders, equestrian disciplines, ranchers, and the broader community. The vision is centred on the adaptive reuse of the site’s historic buildings.
-
Restoration and preservation of existing heritage structures
-
Refurbishing the original dairy barn for cattle housing and interactive milking demonstrations & education
-
Establishment of a resident draft horse team to support parades and community celebration
-
Arenas to facilitate western performance horse events and appropriate pens & chutes for the holding and moving of livestock
-
On-site hay production for resident livestock, restoring gardens & heirloom orchards to support a public Farmers Market & traditional agricultural attractions such as plowing matches and tractor-pull events
-
The project will be developed in phases to ensure financial responsibility and long-term sustainability. Proposed components include:
-
Pioneer Park Stadium: An open-air arena with grandstands suitable for seasonal events, competitions and exhibitions
-
Pioneer Park Picnic Area: A family-friendly space dedicated to community gatherings, heritage displays, and educational programming.
-
Covered Multi-Use Arena & Event Centre: A year-round venue for 4-H activities, livestock shows, auctions, competitions, clinics, agricultural education and other community events.
-
On-Site Barns, Stabling & Overnight Facilities: Infrastructure to support resident and visiting livestock, competitors, and guests, encouraging multi-day events and local economic activity.
Our goal is to re-establish the public’s connection to food production and farm life—much like the historic agricultural exhibitions once featured at the PNE—while strengthening community identity, youth engagement, and regional agri-tourism.
In closing, Belmont Farms can become a living heritage landmark: preserving Langley’s past, supporting today’s producers, and inspiring future generations.
Thank you for your time.
